About Us

Passaic metal & Building Supplies Co. (PAMPCO) is New Jersey’s premiere wholesale building supply company.  PAMPCO services commercial, residential and mechanical contractors throughout the tri-state area. Our business philosophy is to focus on serving the needs of our customers, with a value-added, professional and enthusiastic attitude.

We have an extensive inventory of HVAC equipment and parts, commercial and residential roofing supplies, sheet metal products, commercial doors and fireplaces. We also have years of experience in sheet metal forming and have a full custom metal fabrication shop.

We provide industry leading customer service levels supported with inventory throughout our network of wholesale distribution centers and branches. Our state-of-the-art computer system links all our branches on a real-time basis. Combined with our in-house truck fleet, we replenish inventory to each branch on an overnight basis.  We can handle all your needs for roofing, siding, sheet metal, duct work, air conditioning, heating, ventilation equipment, parts and accessories.

Our History

Max Gurtman & Sons was founded in Passaic NJ in 1911 as a custom sheet metal fabrication shop. In 1933 Lawrence Gurtman founded Passaic metal Products Co. a sheet metal supply house. Still family owned and operated, Passaic metal & Building Supplies co. is on its fourth generation.
